Coaching for Lawyers Law Practice Tip

Law Practice Tip #284

August 13, 2012

Get your point across by keeping it simple

Keep your point simple by reducing your explanation to the nugget, the key important or persuasive point. Then resist burying your explanation and especially your important point(s) in supporting detail. This simpler communication style is truly one where less is more.

Too much information, even if valid and important, is not always a good thing; too many ideas in one sentence is overwhelming and dilutes the desired effect.

Where could you simplify your explanations?
