Coaching for Lawyers Law Practice Tip

Law Practice Tip #282
July 16, 2012

Follow up with clients that have disappeared

Do you have a client you haven't heard from in a while, one who seems to have disappeared? Do you know why? Why not give that client a call and ask if you or your firm "dropped the ball?" Give yourself a chance to get the client back by improving, based on what you learn from the call, and apologizing if needed.

My doctor won my continued loyalty and business because his nurse asked me "Did we drop the ball?"; and that opened the door in a comfortable way for me to say "yes" and tell her how. Then my doctor called and apologized. I have no plans to change docs now.

What balls do you want to pick up?
