Coaching for Lawyers Law Practice Tip

Law Practice Tip #274
March 12, 2012

Make email decisions quickly

Control your email by making quick initial decisions. Whenever you check your email, quickly decide to:

  • delete,
  • move email to a "reply later" folder,
  • move email to save it in an appropriate folder, or
  • reply now.

Don't save emails to think about what you should do until later; that clogs up your email. Quickly move those emails to your "reply later" folder.

Keeping control of your email helps reduce overwhelm and stress.

What steps will you take to keep your email under control?
