Request client testimonials using Linkedin.com

When completing a matter for a client, send them an email requesting that they provide a recommendation or testimonial using Linkedin.com. Provide your email address along with instructions to make it easy for them to do so. See an example of instructions to a client below. Once you receive the recommendation, seek their permission to use the testimonial on your web site as well.

“You could also just use Linkedin.com's “Request Recommendations” option, but make sure you personalize the LinkedIn.com recommendation request message.

I also leave time open on Friday afternoons to return telephone calls.  If I wait to call back on Monday, the client will "feel" like it has been over a week since he/she left a message.”

What clients will you use Linkedin.com to request a testimonial?

Instructions on how to give a testimonial using Linkedin.com:
“At your profile page on www.Linkedin.com in the left hand column there is a link called “Ask for recommendations.” This link will take you to three options. Click the “Sent Recommendations” tab, and below “Manage recommendations you've sent” you will find “Make a recommendation”. That's where you can make a recommendation for my services.”
